Bio-Enhancements

- Muscle Graft - as with a great many of the Bio Enhancements
the muscle graft must be either taken from another locale of the patients body (i.e. moving muscle from
the arms and upper body to the legs or vise versa) or from cloned tissue grown from samples. It is
here that we will discuss the latter of the two procedures for though while it is by far the more
expensive of the two procedures it is the most widespread of the two in terms of usage.
The muscle graft procedure takes approximately two weeks of a constant medical observation as well as intermitant medical procedures to be done in the most effective manner, there are however those who offer a one day version of the procedure but this has a 70% chance of being either rejected by the host body or becoming completely infectious effectively incapacitating the poor soul who recieved treatment.
At any rate the two week procedure is done through the extensive use of both Nanobots and Immune System Inhibitors. Prior to the procedure the character must come to the medical facility one month before the actual graft where a muscle tissue sample is taken for cloning, this takes approximately five minutes and afterwards the character may leave and return for their apointment for the actual graft at a later date. When the characters return for the grafting appointment they may expect to be at the facilities and incapacitated for the full two weeks of the procedure. The first day the character is given a thick gell to drink (36oz) which contains the nanobots, they are then given a series of intravenous lines containing the following, a drug cocktail to inhibit their immune system to reduce chance of rejection (chances of rejection are next to nil even without the inhibitors if the tissue is cloned, the inhibitors are an added bonus), a line containing vaious protiens for feeding, and another cocktail though this is antibiotics and such to reduce chances of infection. The first day the character will go through an operation putting small amounts of muscle and connective tissues into their rightful places, after the muscle is put into place a small amount of an irradiated (is that right?) material is injected into the tissues to signal the nanobots into place.
This is repeated for every muscle graft done to the character (please note that the two weeks for the operation is for the typical 3 P.S. point graft) with two operations a day for each one point of P.S. wanted. It is generally considerded safe to do six operations within a two week period, simply so the body can recouperate and become used to the added weight, mass, and strength.
Bonuses (these are for one graft only / 1 P.S. point): +1 P.S., +5 lb. to weight, +5 S.D.C.
Penalties: (note that these are without rehabilitation)
- For every 3 P.S. points purchased reduce Spd by one
- For every 2 P.S. points purchsed reduce P.P. by one
Cost: 1 Million per P.S. point and an additional 20,000 for every P.S. point gained if rehabilitation is desired. All costs are to be paid in advance
- Lengthening / Shortening - This is a comparitively simple
procedure in comparison to the Muscle Graft. The character can expect to be bedridden for a longer
period of time however.
The operation is a rather crude one in that when the character reaches the facilities they will be made to go through the same basic procedures that one would undergho in the procedure described above (nanobots, and ivs) and would go into the operating room for about an hour and a half for limb shortening no matter how much limb that is removed, or about an hour an a half for every three inched of length wich is desired to be added. After the procedure the character will be bed ridden for one month if the limbs were shortened or one month for every six inches added if the limbs were lengthened.
